No-Cost Virtual Event
The program was well received and VERY interesting. We would highly encourage other clubs to consider having this program presented to their members.
In honor of Veterans Day, the Rotary Club Amigos hosted Maria Cruz, author, and oral historian, who shared the powerful, untold story of WWII combat veterans of Mexican heritage from Humboldt, Kansas. While their families aided the war effort on the home front, these first-generation men of immigrant parents served the USA with valor and distinction and then survived insurmountable odds to safely return to their homes and loved ones.
The legacy and patriotism of these humble men of Mexican roots resounds through three generations of continuous USA military service.
